I got tagged again and this time it’s for the This or That Book Tag, which sounds like a lot of fun, right? Thank you so much CASSIOPEIA’S MOON and Lara @ The Heathen for the tag and of course also the creator of this tag, Ayunda from Tea And Paperbacks. You should definitely check out their blogs and their fantastic posts!
The Rules:
- Mention the creator of the tag.
- Thank the blogger who tagged you!
- Choose one of the options, you don’t have to tell the reasons why you chose that but you can also do them if you want to.
- Tag (10) other people to do this tag to spread the love!
Reading on the couch or in the bed?
In the bed, obviously. I don’t even have a couch in my room to sit and read books, so… Also, when you’re in bed you can stretch your legs out and be simply more comfortable.
Male main character or Female main character?
Why not both? I love it when you have both characters strong and dominant in what they do but that can also at the same time co-exist and make a great team. But it’s also true that there aren’t that many books with strong female lead, so I wished authors would make more plots like that. But apart from that I love Syn from The Fae Chronicles by Amelia Hutching, Charley from Charley Davidson by Darynda Jones and of course any female MC from Nalini Singh and Suzanne Wright.
Sweet Snacks Or Salty Snacks?
Hmm, neighter? I love shrimp charckers with chili on them. So delicious. But I usually don’t eat while I read, so…
Trilogies Or Quartets?
Depends on the author and the whole plot of the story. I don’t like it, if the plot just gets dragged out for an eternity. That’s just not fun to read anymore. But I wouldn’t mind, if Nalini Singh writes hundred more books in her series. 😉
First Person POV Or Third Person POV?
I think I prefer first person. I don’t know. I guess I can relate more to the whole story and characters, since it feels like I’m present their minds and the world they live in. It’s like I’m in the moment at the same time the characters are and I like that more than the third person POV.
Reading At Night Or In The Morning?
Night, absolutely night. I’m a night owl so I’m like a zombie in the morning and will definitely hurt you if you dare to wake me too early. Besides, if I read a book in the morning I will fall asleep again in no time.
Libraries Or Bookstores?
English is not my mother language so it’s really hard to get books in english and since I’m only reading books that are in that language I usually just buy them online. So, online bookstores for sure.
Books That Make You Laugh Or Books That Make You Cry?
I like to laugh, so I always try to find books like that. Books that are super emotional aren’t my favourite ones, since they always seems too heavy for me to read. But I absolutely love books that can make a character that went through abuse make at the end a winner.
Black Book Covers Or White Book Covers?
White but that’s just because there are waaaay too many books with black covers and I think 90% of my books on my shelves are in that colour and I hate it. 😦 But I’d love to see more colourful covers, that’s for sure.
Character Driven Or Plot Driven Stories?
Hmm, I think if you have a great plot then the characters also have to be awesome to fit into that story. Yes, I’m going with the plot.
And that is it for this book tag! I know I should nominate a bunch of people but I think everyone should do it, so I tag EVERYONE! Go and have fun making your own post! I would love to see your answers, too, so if you could link your post back to me, that’d be awesome! 😀
Awesome post! I’m just gonna consider myself tagged 😀

Why do you only read books in English?

I love the original and also the translations to my language are not as good as I’d like. 🙂

Ah, fair enough. I like to read the original when I can as well. But I meant do you not read books that were originally published in your language?

Sadly I don’t read any books that were published in my language., apart for my law books. I tried once, when I was on vacation with my friend and I could barely finish the story. I guess I’m too used to english now.

Oh, I want to read the Kerstin Gier’s books. I just have a hard time finding them in German.

You can order them from Amazon.de, they have them in german language. I don’t know about the shipping costs but I don’t think it’s that much, especially if you buy used books. 🙂

Amazon is my to-go for books in English. There aren’t that many bookstores selling anything that’s not in French around here!

I usually order by Book Depository or some other online stores that have used books. The shipping with Amazon is too expensive for me. 😦

Oh 😦 I’m sad to hear that. Amazon has good shipping deals for France. I’ve never dared buying on Book Depository, I should try it!

Buying on Book Depository is super easy, since they have world wide free shipping and Amazon owns them. The only thing that could bother you is that you will have to wait for a week for the book to come to you from the UK.
